Ms. Jobelle Pacquiao chairs Sarangani Provincial Tourism Council

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 24, 2022) – Provincial Tourism Council President Jobelle Pacquiao and some of the newly-elected PTC officers of Sarangani took their oath of office before Governor Rogelio "Ruel" D. Pacquiao on August 23.

With Ms. Pacquiao (wife of Governor Ruel Pacquiao) were PTC Treasurer Lilibeth Salarda (wife of Alabel Mayor Vic Paul Salarda), Secretary Noel “Weng” Alicarte, and member of the Board of Directors Nancy Paglinawan (Malapatan Tourism Council chairperson).

"Let us make the name Sarangani loud. Loud that it can be heard not only in SOX nor in Region XII alone, but in the whole world," Ms. Pacquiao said.

The oathtaking rites held at the office of the governor came on heels of the Department of Tourism Region XII announcement that Sarangani Province topped the SOX Tourist Arrival both day and overnight for the first semester of 2022.

Among other provinces and cities in Region XII, Sarangani garnered the highest figures with 1,078,505 total day tourist arrivals and 332,474 overnight tourist arrivals.

Four of the seven municipalities, including Glan, Alabel, Maasim, and Maitum, were among the Top 10 Most Visited Tourist Destinations in the region.

The PTC officers vowed to observe and put forward the goals and objectives of the council to the best of their abilities, as part of their duties and responsibilities.

They promised to work for unity and cooperation among all members of the different sectors of the tourism industry as they strive for one common interest which is to promote the welfare of Sarangani province and its people.

It was on July 20 when PTC Sarangani elected its new set of officers under the leadership of Governor Pacquiao. (Jori Mae R. Samillano/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
