Sarangani Provincial Hospital East Wing building inaugurated

ALABEL, Sarangani (March 16, 2022) – Some provincial officials, heads, and staff of the Sarangani Provincial Hospital (SPH) lead the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of the SPH East Wing Building during its turnover and inauguration on March 14. The construction has an appropriation fund amounting to a total of P148M for phases one, two and three which was mobilized through the initiative of Senator Manny Pacquiao, and Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao, with the help of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, and all the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members. The SPH East Wing is a three-storey building that has imaging services such as x-ray, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on its ground floor; airconditioned general wards which cater four to six beds each on its second floor; and three private rooms on its third floor. The SPH East Wing Building is also equipped with an elevator. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arvin Alejandro disclosed that the P25M from total budget for the construction of the SPH East Wing building was from the General Appropriation Act (GAA) of the province appropriated to comply the fire safety requirement of the Bureau of Fire Protection. “Maipagmamalaki natin ito kasi most likely it is the only hospital in the region that is really very compliant sa BFP,” Alejandro said. “Once our license to operate is issued by the DOH,” Alejandro said, “our hospital will now be a Level 2 or Level 1 with ICU hospital.” Alejandro also added that there will also be an additional P25M for the full operation of the SPH East Wing Building.
