Regional Director Dr. Aristides Concepcion Tan of the Department of Health Region XII stressed that “pregnancy is a high-risk endeavor.” Therefore, “regular pre-natal check-ups and receiving the necessary vaccinations like tetanus toxoid” is a must for pregnant women.
Also, several children and senior citizens availed of dental services and free check-up and screening for non-communicable diseases (NCD) like cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes, and chronic lung diseases.
The Tutok Buntis, Dental Care, and NCD Screening were among the activities during the launching of PinasLakas Booster Campaign in Malapatan to make COVID-19 vaccination and other health services accessible to the community as a one-stop shop.
The vaccination drive and the provision of other health services were conducted through the partnership of DOH XII, Provincial Health Office, Provincial DOH Office, Malapatan Municipal Health Office, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-Sarangani), and the local government units.
